Water City Films was conceived on a bike ride where Paco and Greg discovered that they had a passion to share art, drama, education and stories through the medium of film. Their talents compliment each other as Paco comes up with ideas and Greg strives to give them shape and structure. Together they are committed to producing the highest quality productions available.
WATER CITY FILMS current projects include:
a feature-length film
a children’s television show and
a documentary
Paco Rosic grew up in Sarajevo and began spray painting graffiti at the age
of 14. In the early 90s Rosic and his family lived in safe houses to survive
the civil war that raged in Bosnia. Eventually they escaped to Germany, but
their refugee status ended after five years, and the family moved to
Waterloo, Iowa, - when Paco was 18. Since that time Rosic has become a
renowned artist, culinary chef and photographer. His best known work is a
recreation of Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel that he painted with on the
ceiling of his restaurant with spray paint.
Greg Holt directed his first film in 8th grade, in Washington, D.C., and
went on to get his Masters degree in Theatre and Directing at the University
of Denver. Since then he’s worked as an actor and director for theaters in 27
states across the country, including five national commercials and a brief
stint on Broadway. He’s currently the Artistic Director at the Waterloo
Playhouse.
In 2020 Paco was running a restaurant in Waterloo, Greg was running a
theatre. They discovered a shared passion for film while on a bike ride and
decided to start creating projects together. Paco’s cinematic vision and
editing skills matched well with Greg’s writing experience and directorial
background. Their symbiotic artistic adventures have led them to explore
short films, documentaries, children’s television and now feature-length
films. The mission of Water City Films is to create high quality productions
in the middle of the heartland.
